I am starting a little early with my New Years Resolution. This year I will be sharing a photo of old work or of a new piece (a drawing, quick sketch, in the making or a final piece) every week on here, my facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Louise-Swanton-228574183844954/ and my linkedin page:https://www.linkedin.com/in/louise-swanton-0802193a .
I am looking to motivate myself, get feedback from other artists and the public as well as to continue to develop myself as an Artist. I am wanting to see my work in more galleries, to learn new skills and to gain new connections with interesting professionals.
I hope you will all share, comment and discuss with me here on one of my other media platforms throughout the year.
My first picture to share in the above Fire Blast image (2011) which has been shown at Carmarthen School of The Arts, New Designers in London, The NewAshgate Gallery in Surrey and The Qube Gallery in Oswestry. This piece is looking at the ephemeral nature of fire and the beauty and danger of the act of creating fire. I have used soft sheep fleece which has been hand dyed, wet and needle felted to create the softness and beauty of the moment. Then sewn on hand knitted wire representing amour to protect us from the danger that can come with such an act.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and have a happy New Year
