A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about educational, vegan and lifestyle blogger Caged Fire, you may have to scroll back if you don't remember as she is a rather amazing woman. I am currently a vegetarian of 14 years and try to live an active and healthy lifestyle after hurting my back a few years ago. Since then I have lost 5 and a half stone and this has help me so much in most aspects of my life, mainly I now only have the occasional twinges in my back. This means it is very important for me to both keep my weight down and to eat healthy to keep up my energy levels and to stop my eczema from flaring up too badly.
When scrolling my news feed I spied recipe for raw hazelnut brownies from Caged Fire this week which nearly made me drool over my key board. As soon as I started my next shop I knew the ingredients for this had to be on my list. And oh my.... was I right. These are absolutely delicious, filling and satisfy my sweet tooth (especially after a long horse ride). They are crazy easy to make and I have managed to devour them so far in only small portions which mean healthy for me, as well as them lasting for longer. The boyfriend loves them too (which means I must now stock up on hazelnuts!).
My pictures are a lot messier than Caged Fire. In all honesty I was munchy when I was taking these pictures and was trying to cut them into nice small squares so I didn't scoff it all straight away. But I promise these are very delicious (remind me of Nakd Bars). The only thing I may try differently next time (or the rest of the tray in the freezer) is to try out rolling them into mini energy balls to see what they are like :-)
